Throughout the selling and buying process we felt well informed and knew Tom had our interests in mind. I thought you were very media savvy which I view as an important skill set in any type of sales. In today's changing media landscape with so many options for buyers to utilize in finding a home, I thought you did an excellent job in combining print, internet, and word of mouth to market our home in the best way possible. This included the virtual home tour you sent up on the internet, the descriptive and visually appealing flyers you printed for the prospective buyers, the signs you posted, and the ability of you and your Long & Foster team to get the word out. The results were the decent amount of foot traffic you generated, and the sale of our home in less than 2 months without the need to intrude on our lives with multiple open houses.

I thought you communicated well with both Candice and I as well as the seller's agent in working out the deal and keeping all parties pointed in the right direction at all times. You alleviated all my concerns and always answered my questions. Another strong point was your ability to research concerns and/or questions and get back to us with an answer. I though this was illustrated after the home inspection when you were in contact with contractors, the city, and building inspectors to nail down what was expected concerning the buyer's request for a vapor barrier, main water insulation, etc. allowing us to respond in a timely and knowledgeable manner.

Your local proximity and availability were also greatly appreciated. You were available at all hours, not only on the phone but in person as well. This is always greatly appreciated even if it isn't always reasonable for us to expect you to be available night and day.

Our sale was also part of a relocation with Weichart which adds a layer of complexity and you handled that with aplomb. I know it wasn't always easy because I sometimes had trouble communicating with my contacts at Weichart. Speaking of which do you have a better quality copy of our HUD1 than the one you sent me? I have requested one from Weichart time and time again but have yet to receive one (this is another example of the difficulty in dealing with them).  Thanks again.

I am writing to you to tell you about my experience in working with one of your associates, Tom Atwood, who is based in the Federal Hill Office. Having moved back to Baltimore from Washington DC in the summer of 2006, I was in need of an agent that had a good understanding of Baltimore City and was willing to search for that special home. Well, fortunately for me, Tom was recommended and we began our search in Federal Hill and Canton. Although I did not find a place that satisfied my requirements in these areas, I was able to land a new more lucrative job thanks to Tom. That's right! On one of the showings, I met a homeowner that was recruiting for a management position at a downtown firm. Shortly thereafter, I was hired at a higher salary and was able to continue my search for homes at a higher price level! Tom quickly provided me with new listings and was able to modify the search to meet my new requirements. After deciding that I wanted to change the search from the city to Baltimore County, Tom remained undaunted. He again modified our search and, after several months of not finding a home I wanted to buy, we landed a gem in Perry Hall. Not only that, Tom negotiated $10,000 off the listing price even though the sellers had a full price offer along with mine. Still not sure today how he managed that! And on top of that, Tom arranged a second home appraisal at no extra cost to me after the first appraisal was done as a drive-by only. This saved me several thousand dollars at settlement. Anyhow, I think what separates Tom from other agents is that he is willing to go that extra mile--literally--for his clients. Tom had no problem checking out new locations or changing our search parameters. Tom also provided me with a lot of his time even though my price range was at $300k and I knew he had listings above $1 million to handle as well. With most agents, people like me would be lost in the shuffle. And what else stands out is that Tom not only gave sound advice as to what homes to look for, but he was willing to speak out when there were homes that I should stay away from. I plan to stay in my home for several years but it goes without saying, my first call will be to Tom when I move. I'd also say that people looking for their first home or whether they're upsizing or downsizing should call Tom. Lastly, I'd like to commend Long & Foster for providing agents with Tom's experience, professionalism and level of dedication.
